Officially live with GraffitiCMS and a new theme

by Otto on June 23, 2008

A couple of months ago, I moved iTech Northwest’s site to GraffitiCMS and I really enjoyed how everything came together.  GraffitiCMS is a very solid application and I knew it would be a great fit for my personal site.

I don’t think the move to the new server ever really worked with dasBlog and frankly, I didn’t want to spend the time figuring out what I needed to do in order to fix the problems.  It just seemed easier to move from dasBlog and thankfully, the latest release (v 1.1) of GraffitiCMS has a converter utility.

Here we are, new blog engine and a new theme.  The theme is something I put together with the help of BlueprintCSS.  Blueprint is a CSS framework that lives up to its claim to "cut down your CSS development time".  I think I put this theme together in a couple of hours and I’m not a designer, nor would I say I can write CSS well.

The photo at the top of the page is something I shot last year during one of Joanna’s races.  It was the first useable photo I came across on my hard drive and it has grown on me.

I’m pretty sure the dust hasn’t settled on the site and I’ll be making corrections to the design for the next couple of weeks, but I’d love to hear what you folks think.
